"TOILET WALK: Walk for Dignified and Equitable Public Toilets"

Kathmandu valley having the population of more than 3.5 million, still struggling for the proper sanitation including wastes, public toilets, water pollution etc, among them public sanitation (latrines) are hitting hardest. Currently according to the data there are 68 public toilets in Kathmandu valley but questions rises "how many of them are in existence at present and functional to use with equity and dignity?"
So here is the appeal to all for showing your solidarity for dignified and equitable public toilet on 19th November, 2014 through "TOILET WALK: Walk for Dignified and Equitable Public Toilets."
Objectives:
• To raise the issue of Public toilet as issue of all.
• To sensitize and aware general public and responsible stakeholders about the need of dignified and equitable public toilet.
• To advocate for dignified and equitable public toilets (Gender friendly, disable friendly, Child friendly, elderly friendly)
• To sensitize the operators about the proper sanitation along with the exploration of possible solutions for making it healthy.

World Toilet Day focuses on the importance of sanitation and aims to raise awareness about the 2.6 billion people (nearly half the world's population) who don't have access to toilets and proper sanitation. World Toilet Day intends to raise awareness on sanitation for all.
Sanitation is considered as basic human right of all people. Sanitation has a strong connection not only with personal hygiene but also with human dignity and well-being, public health, nutrition and even education. SACOSAN commitment, National sanitation Target of 2017 can be achieved only if importance of proper sanitation is known by all people of Nepal.
