Birds of Kathmandu: A webinar with Bird Conservation Nepal
As we look forward to being outdoors post-lockdown, the British Council invites you to learn more about the birds that also inhabit our city. We are organising a family-friendly webinar on the birds found in Kathmandu Valley to encourage more people to take up birdwatching to build interest in and contribute to bird conservation. The webinar will be led by Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) and will include expert advice on getting started with birdwatching in and around Kathmandu Valley.
The webinar will cover:
- What species of birds that can be found in and around Kathmandu Valley?
- Where and when can you see these birds?
- Which are the most at risk and what are the primary reasons for their endangerment?
- Where can you access more information about the birds of Kathmandu/Nepal?
- Tips on birdwatching and how to get started
- Participating in BCN’s #birdinginfrommybackyard initiative
- Participating in BCN’s Urban Bird Count to support bird conservation
- Learn about BCN’s ongoing educational activities at Raniban, Kathmandu
The webinar will be conducted in English.
The event is open to all ages, registration is required. Children are requested to apply through their guardians.
