T20 CRICKET TOURNAMENT for street children

Our Sansar is delighted to announce a first ever in Nepal T20 Cricket Tournament to celebrate the International Day for Street Children on the 12th of April. We will have several teams from children’s homes in the Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur districts taking part in the tournament. The Semi-Final and Final games will take place at the Hupra Stadium in Hetauda, with the final on the International Day for Street Children.


International Day for Street Children is a day celebrated around the world by different charities, organisations and communities working to assist street children. This year, Our Sansar is trying to make this day a special day for street children; therefore we have chosen this date for our tournament.

 As Cricket is the second most popular sport in Nepal and becoming a sport of choice for most of the children and adults, we are trying to promote it among those groups that would not normally have the opportunity to compete, to be part of a team, and to play against their peers.

We’re very excited to announce that our event ambassador is Mr Shakti Gauchan, a player on the national cricket team. He along with Cricket Association Nepal(CAN) will help us to make this tournament very special for the children.

We would like as many local companies, schools, groups, organisations to join us in the celebrations of the day so please do get in touch.

All proceeds will go towards supporting our children’s home in Birgunj, which provides vital shelter and education to vulnerable street children. Our Sansar also runs a national teacher training programme.
