Janai Purnima is a hindu festival celebrated all over the country and it is also a big day to observe the shaman culture.

On this day shamans of the Kathmandu Valley and across Nepal gather to perform ancient rites at the Kumbeshwor temple in Patan.

Our mentor, Jagadish Upadhya, will guide you through the festival and rituals while you compose your best shots on 35mm black & white film to capture the experience.

We will be situated in the heart of the temple and roam about for photo opportunities. 

After the festival, you will have the chance to develop your own photo prints in the darkroom studio - the only one in Nepal. 

There will be a lunch and tea breaks in the day (not included in the price of the package).

The workshop will be in both Nepali and English.

Venue: Kumbeshowr Mandir, Patan.

Time: 6am - 6pm

Two price points: 

1. Full Package - 10,000 NPR (limited to 10 participants)

includes: 

A) 2 B&W film rolls, 

B) Nikon SLR camera shared with 2 participants. 

C) 4 prints (fiber based paper - archival quality, 100 years)

D) OR 6 prints (resin coated paper)

E) 2 processing days for the above (you can choose your own time, preferably the weekend)

2. Sub Package - 3,000 NPR (unlimited participants)

includes:

One full day photo session and tour with our instructor only. 

Bring your own 35mm B&W film and SLR camera.

If processing and printing required, extra charges apply for studio time and materials.
