INTRODUCTION OF MADHYAPUR THIMI BISKA JATRA
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Madhyapur Thimi is ancient city with rich cultural and traditional values is located in about eight kilometers east of Kathmandu. Biska Jatra is one of major festival of the city. Commonly known as Sindur Jatra, Bisket Jatra is celebrated in Madhyapur Thimi during start of Bikram Sambat: 1st and 2nd of every Baisak. People greet each other throwing simrik powder on backdrop of traditional Newari Dhime music. 

For the promotion of the Jatra FNPJ Nepal, Rotaract Club of Madhyapur & Photos of Nepal jointly presents "Bisket Jatra Photo Exhibition" at Three different cities of Madhyapur Thimi namely Bode, Nagadesh and Thimi

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE EXHIBITION

- Promote the Biska Jatra Festival of Madhyapur Thimi
- Promote the cultures/festivals of Nepal
- Promote tourism of Madhyapur Thimi
