Tour De’ Lumbini- Pedal for Peace

Tour De’ Lumbini-Pedal for Peace is a promotional cycle rally organised jointly by “Tour De Lumbini” and “World Cyclist Foundation Nepal”. Started in the Year 2012 in an initiation of World Cyclist /Mt. Everest Summiteer Pushkar Shah , the objective of the rally was to celebrate peace in the birthplace of Lord Buddha on his birthplace. The enthusiastic cyclists took part and rode from Kathmandu to Lumbini in a 3 nights 2 days schedule managed by World Cyclist Foundation Nepal (WCFN). Upon a grand success of the event, WCFN decided to continue along with the group of enthusiastic peace lovers who united themselves to register the event officially. Thus in a joint effort, TDL-2013 was marked another huge success to celebrate peace.

Nepal experienced 10 years of political tsunami, which affected the entire country, socially and economically. Over 17,000 lives were lost, thousands of people were displaced, and economy was in the verge of collapse. As it was political problem not terrorism, not a single tourist was killed in a decade long insurgency (1996 – 2006 ). Now we believe that, it is TIME to rebuild our nation. PEACE in a country should be maintained always in a country to bring prosperity. Hence, we are again celebrating PEACE this year at the birthplace of Buddha . We would like to request your solidarity with us by marking your calendar this year to CELEBRATE BUDDHA JAYANTI in a peaceful way . LET’S PEDAL FOR PEACE !!

Day 2 - 12th May 2014 , Kurintar-Chormara- Arunkhola (Night Stay )
Day 3 - 13th May 2014 ,Arunkhola - Daunne - Bhairhawa ( Night Stay )
Day 4 - 14th May 2014 ,Bhairhawa - Lumbini ( Candle Lightning , Sight seeing of Buddha Pilgrimage site in Lumbini and Kapilbastu
