Sanskriti and Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) jointly present 4 days of stimulating nature, wildlife and environment education related activities.

TEACHERS TRAINING: ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
MONDAY, 3 MARCH | 9AM – 4PM
SHREE TRIJUDHA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BIRTA
Nepal Prakriti Pathsala’s (NPP) training program mainly focused on science teachers will enhance their teaching through hands-on methods by taking children outside the classroom and make learning more fun. The workshop aims to motivate teachers to teach with practical sessions. In groups, teachers will prepare a mind map on local environmental issues to be incorporated in their environment education. The group activities will include solar heater, garbage walk, soil cleansing the water, watercycle and how trees stop soil erosion.

OUTREACH PROGRAM: ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY, 4-5 MARCH | 9AM – 3.30PM
SHREE TRIJUDHA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BIRTA
NPP has developed methodologies that makes learning more fun. Students will be educated on green house effects, climate change issues, global and national biodiversity, carbon footprint and measures that can be applied on an individual level to mitigate climate change. Topics and activities will include; tree plantation, tree as habitat, photosynthesis, soil erosion, transpiration, herbarium, green map, and water cycle.

PHOTO EXHIBITION: NATURE THROUGH LENS
THURSDAY, 6 MARCH | 10AM
HIMANCHAL CABIN, MAISTHAN CHOWK
20 award winning photographs from WCN’s biannual photo contest will be on display to create
an awareness to protect and conserve biodiversity. Mr. Sarwendra Khanal, Senior Superintendent of Police will open the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open till 30 April 2014
