Prasad street art festival

On the month of August- September, Artlab Life will be organizing international Street Art Festival in Nepal. The festival will have:

The main purpose of the art festival is to introduce Prasad Heroes to inspire and motivate youths to create positive manifestation within our society. A collective, expanding group of youth has begun by pasting oversized portraits around Nepal. These portraits are of our “home-made” Nepali heroes. Non-politically motivated individuals that have inspired and continued to inspire our generation in a positive way: poets, artists, social workers, comedian, historians, musicians and the list will continue to grow. Our belief is that citizens from Nepal will see different faces of Prasad heroes be reminded of what they admired about their hero; and then create something useful for our society.The Street Art Festival will include five phases of art shows:

1)Mural Making

Our festival begins with Mural Making in the streets of Kathmandu, Lalitpur or Bhaktapur. The artists from Nepal are collaborating with international artistic figures to create 10 murals related to Prasad themes: migration, opportunities and local heroes.

2)Art Talk Show

We have “Art Talk Show” where artists from Nepal and other countries will be presenting their life stories and art techniques to empower potential artists of Nepal, and the talk show is followed by Q&A session. There will also be Live art jam, Video mapping, Fashion Show and collaboration with other creative subcultures of Nepal.

3)Street Art Jam

In the third round of the festival, we aim to create street art jam to excite audiences to know more about art, and to showcase how street arts have created multiple door of opportunities to the youth of Nepal. 

4)Van Tour

The audience who wish to participate or encounter a work of art will have an opportunity to roam around Kathmandu city via our Van Tour sessions. The organized Van tour will take a number of audience to street art spots to learn about the street art movement and its’ significance of outdoor gallery.

5)Indoor exhibition

Our Street Art Festival will complete with the opening of indoor gallery consists of artworks and installation, With the intention to introduce artworks of various medium displayed side by side, we will make this exhibition as Nepal’s first art event dedicated to heroes of the past, present and future.
