Fee: Rs.900 per person (for those who don’t have T-shirt)

Fee: Rs.400 per person (only for those who have HFN t-shirt)

HOW TO GET THERE? Please arrive at Bhrikutimandap Complex (Next to Nepal Tourism Board office) before 6:45 AM. Our team will meet you at Bhrikutimandap Gate. We will leave sharp 7:15

Weather: Some sun with a couple of showers are expected on the day. We advise you to bring a raincoat and wear comfortable light hiking/running shoes.

OVERVIEW:

40 KM away from Kathmandu lies one of holiest pilgrimage site in the word for Buddhist. Legends say a young prince, Mahasattva, (in some versions, reincarnation of Buddha himself) while walking in a forest with his brothers saw a tigress with 5 cubs she had just given birth to. The tigress was so hungry that she could barely move. Overcome with compassion, he began to feed the tigress and her cubs by cutting his flesh. Later when other brothers came searching for him, found only his bones and hairs. A stupa was built on top of these remains, now known as NAMO BUDDHA.

Sprawling terraced rice fields, typical Newari villages, view of snowcapped mountains in a clear day, Buddhist temples, and green forests are few of the attractions of KHOPASI-BALTHALHI HIKE. One of the best outing destination on the outskirt of Kathmandu valley, Balthali is a typical village with ancient traditions and cultures yet to be touched by today’s modernization. Our chartered bus will drive us up to Batase Danda and from there will begin our hike. This hike will be a mix of cultural, village and jungle walk.
