KNOW YOUR HERITAGE-2: Exclusive visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square

As we all know, BLUE COFFEE has started its new series of Events: 'Know Your Heritage', starting with the exclusive visit to the restored areas of Patan Durbar Square. The main objective of the Event is to observe our World Heritage sites and to emphasize on the process through which the material, historical, and design integrity of humanity's built heritage are prolonged through carefully planned restoration.

This time Blue Coffee is organizing and continuing this series with the exclusive visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

1. Presenters:
• Ar. Wolfgang Korn, Author of 'The Traditional Architecture of Nepal' & Construction supervisor of The Hanuman Dhoka Restoration Project.
• Dr. Rohit K. Ranjitkar, Nepal Program Director, Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust

2. Date: 24th Nov' 2013 (SUNDAY)
3. Time: 3 pm to 5 pm.
• Meeting point is at the main entrance of Hanuman Dhoka
• Orientation program.
• Site Visit: includes Hanuman Dhoka and its courtyards as Nasal Chowk ,Mul Chowk ,Sundari Chowk & Basantapur Durbar.
• Refreshments

4. The registration charge is NRs 350 (In words: Three hundred and fifty only) per head. Students are requested to bring their student identification card.

5. Attendees shall preferably be architects/ general interested people/ students who have chosen Conservation as their elective in their Architecture studies.

6. Attendees are requested to make a research on the proposed areas so that one is pre-informed for productive interactions.

7. Total number of participants = LIMITED on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.
