Invite: First Official Storytelling Session of
"Stories on the Verge Project," Nepal Tour/ Yalama Kendra


Join us for an exclusive storytelling session which includes previously unrecorded and untold stories from cultures around the Eastern Himalayas. The session also is being attended by scholars from around Asia via video conferencing in view of helping bring forward the relevance of dying oral traditions and traditional narratives with a specific focus on Nepal and E. Himalayas. The associate for the session is World Storytelling Institute and the video conference will be facilitated by Dr. Eric Miller, PhD, University of Pennsylvania and by Acoustic Traditional members.

An exclusive half hour session will also showcase one vanishing oral tradition of the Koits. The narrative which was previously thought to have become extinct seems to have been revived by community members, albeit in fragments.

The Project rests its sustainability on crowd funding and as such levies a basic 'donor' registration for certain sessions such as this one.

Registration: Rs. 500/ per individual (prior to the event date as the venue accommodates around 70 individuals); Registration passes will be home-delivered next week by Project volunteers

We are crowd funding!
In terms of raising additional support for the project, we will be keeping "story pages" for display which can be purchased at 4,000/ (and above); the story pages include story sets that have been hand printed on Nepalese hand made paper (25inches x 18 inches); each set includes a title, documentation site and the narrative. You could also support the project in terms of making a voluntary contribution at the venue. Please note that there are only 15 sets left and the display will be put at the venue only.
