Cheers Talk with Sristi K.C.

Dear Everyone,

We invite you to the Cheers Talk (23rd session), where we gather and network at Seminal Hall, Southwestern State College Basundhara Kathmandu @ 8 am on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. Please do mark your calendar now.

Cheers Talk is a Powerful Motivational Talk Program with TED and LEAF talk like concept for the first time in Nepal by the youngest group of people called Cheers Network. It is designed for everyone as a common platform for sharing ideas, meeting innovator, and for special presentations.

For our 23rd Session, the Innovator of the Week is Miss. Sristi K.C., who became blind at the age of 16 and struggled for her new situation. She overcame many challenges to lead a life filled with happiness and dignity although blind people are commonly treated as objects of pity and charity and she seek to empower to them as she has empowered herself. What initially was her limitation has now become her springboard and she really rocks the blind.

She also runs an organization Blind Rocks! (http://www.blindrocks.org/), which empowers blind people around the world through workshops in dance, fashion, communication, inter personal skills like body language, body movement, gesture, posture, facial expression, stage movement, etc and adventures like rock climbing, river rafting, etc. She along with her team have successfully conducted different workshops in Russia, India and different urban and rural part of Nepal.

We will see, hear and have direct conversation with her in this week’s Cheers Talk session.
