Mobile Social Networking Nepal (MobileNepal) brings to you the first ever Mobile App Challenge – Pivot Nepal in Nepal.

Pivot Nepal is a two month long competition for mobile app developers and other mobile enthusiasts to bring forward their creative and innovative mobile app ideas, products and prototypes that has the potential to stand out as a sustainable business in itself.

If you have some killer mobile app ideas and concepts that you think will work in Nepalese context and has the potential to be scaled up at an International level this is the right avenue for you to submit your idea and take it forward. At the same time, if you already have conceived and developed mobile app and are looking to develop business around it, this is the right place for your to submit your concept and take it forward.

Submission of idea has started from February 25, 2013 and will last till March 15, 2013. Teams will be able to submit their idea in any of the three categories - Social Development, Utilities and Entertainment and Business and Financial Services through the website http://pivot.mobilenepal.net.

Top 5 submissions under each category (15 in total) will enter into the next phase of coaching and mentoring where they will have opportunity to discuss their idea with thematic experts, technical experts and business experts for a period of one month. The last phase of the competition will be agrand pitching event on April 26, 2013 where all the 15 finalists will present their idea to an international jury and relevant stakeholders at the national level.

During the pitching event, the jury will select one winner under each category that will receive cash prize of US$ 1,000 each. There will also be an overall winner that will be entitled additional cash prize of US$ 3,000 along with an opportunity to participate and present their idea in a fully funded trip to an International Mobile event.
