Asian Enduro Series 2016 - NEPAL

A sweeping global trend has seen mountain bikers get bitten by the Enduro pandemic, and not many trails make for a more favorable breeding ground than the ones in the Himalayan backyard. Home to the highest mountains and unreal terrains, Nepal is gearing up to launch the first ever Asian Enduro Series (AES) on April 2016. 

★ DETAILED ITINERARY ★

Entire trip for international participants will be from April 5 to 10. Race days are April 7, 8 and 9. 

Day I (5 April) International Arrival. Race registration and briefing.

Our staff will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu upon your arrival and transfer you to the official AES 2016- Nepal hotel on a private vehicle. We will then start the race registration and bibs distribution in the evening. A race briefing will be made shortly. Make sure you are present in this program or you will not be able to participate in the race otherwise.

1600 Registration and briefing about the AES. Bibs and registration pack distribution.
1900 Welcome Dinner

Day II (6 April) Practice session. Warm up rides. Bike checks.

After breakfast, we will bike some of the best single tracks around south-side of the valley as warm up ride for the series. Please make sure you pack your luggage and report it in the lobby to transfer it to Nagarkot. Rajkulo is considered one of the best single track destination where we will bike for about 20km before we settle down for lunch. Our vehicles will be waiting outside the hotel to drive us to the race venue, Nagarkot which is about 35km from our hotel. Overnight at Club Himalaya.

0800 Breakfast.

1000 Warm up ride to Rajkulo. Single tracks around Lalitpur is one of the best rides in Kathmandu. We will ride for about 3 hours covering 20kms in total before we settle down for lunch back at the hotel.

1300 Lunch break. (Light lunch)
1500 Drive to Nagarkot.
1700 Bikes Check.
1900 Dinner.

DayIII (7 April) Official Practice session. Opening ceremony.

After breakfast, we head towards the trail for official practice in Special stage 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7. You will be disqualified if you don’t have a checked sticker on your bike! After lunch, we drive to back for next session of practice. Opening ceremony will take place in the evening. Sleep well and prepare wel for the race next day.

Note: Please have your bikes checked by our official. You will need a sticker of approval in your bike at the start gate. You will have a penalty if not done so!

0900 Drive to the start point for Stage 1,2,3
1200 Packed lunch served on the way back.
1400 Practice session for Stage 4,5,6,7
1600 Drive back to the hotel from finish point.
1800 Opening Ceremony AES 2016 – NEPAL
1900 Dinner.

Day IV (8 April) Race Day Special Stage #1 (3 stages)

Make sure you have breakfast on time. The details of the race will be available on the notice board of the hotel. Make sure you have a copy of the details with you as well. Your start time will be mentioned on the sheet of paper pasted on the notice board. Not following the program might even disqualify you from the entire race. We will have 3 stages today.

0800 Breakfast.
1000 Drive to the start point.
1100 Race Start, Stage 1
1200 Race Start, Stage 2
1300 Race Start, Stage 3
1500 Drive back to Hotel
1900 Dinner

Day V (9 April) Race Day Special Stage #2 (4 stages)

Today is the final day of the AES Series. The details of the race will be available on the notice board of the hotel. Our shuttle service will lift you back to the top after the final run for award ceremony which will take place at our official AES 2016 – Nepal hotel. “Work hard, party harder”, We will have after party with LIVE band performing especially for AES 2016 – NEPAL participants. Dinner will be on the table.

Day VI (10 April) International departure 

AES representative will drop you off to the airport after breakfast. There are optional mountain bike trips, mountain flights or event biking in the high Himalayas after the AES event. Trip extensions include: Mustang Mountain Biking (7 days), Kathmandu Valley Mountain Biking (4 days) and Poon Hill Trek (6 days).

Prices provided herein are valid for booking confirmations made for Asian Enduro Series - NEPAL 2016 only.

Race Registration fee: US$65 for AES race days (April 7 to 9)
For optional warm up practice ride on April 6: Extra US$10

Race Trip (optional)

For international athletes, accommodation, transportation, meals (breakfast and lunch) and other particulars mentioned below can be handled by Gnarly. The additional cost per person is US$ 420 (extra US$25 per day for single room) for the entire race trip (i.e. from April 5 to 10).

· All ground transportation by private vehicle in Kathmandu during AES 2016 including airport pick up/drop off, transfer to race location, baggage transport
· Shuttle service for 2 race days (Practice days cost US$10 per person)
· Packed lunch, water and energy bars during race days
· Hotels in twin sharing basis and meals (Bar bills not included) in Kathmandu and Nagarkot (race location)

· International airfare and airport departure tax
· Travel insurance covering medical treatment and evacuation by ground and air
· Nepal entry visa, obtained upon arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu
· Mountain bike, equipment and attire
· Items of personal nature like laundry, communication and bar bill
· Race registration
· Tips for biking staff and driver. (Tipping is appreciated)
· Other expenses not mentioned in the Trip Price Includes section
