Events Detail

Winter Art Camp 2017

This camp is designed to help children with their artistic and creative process. During art camp they will explore different medium of visual and performing arts like drawing, painting, printing, body movement and other different mediums. They will explore these medium according to the lesson plans. Camps are project based and focus on group activities with individual guidance. They do observational and imaginative works to explore and express their ideas. The lessons are divided into 10 classes. Each class will be of 6 hrs long.

About Facilitator:
Subima Shrestha: 
A choreographer, teacher and a performing artist Subima Shrestha uses her love for dance in many ways. Using varying kathak moves and delicate facial expressions, Subima has performed in numerous shows and also runs Nritya Aagan based in Lalitpur. She teaches children and adults kathak with precision and love. A woman of many talents, Subima is defiantly a name to remember in the performance arts scene.

Sunita Maharjan: 
Sunita Maharjan is an visual artist and arts educator based in Kathmandu. For her art is a visual presentation of the individual thoughts of life. She is the co-founder of Drawing Room KTM and one of the founder member of Srijanalaya, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that is dedicated to creating safe spaces of learning through the arts in Nepal. . She had participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally as well as residencies and student excahnge program. She holds a BFA in Painting from Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design and MFA from Tribhuvan University.

Sharareh Bajracharya
Sharareh Bajracharya is an arts educator. Her academic background involves a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Development from Tufts University, a Master's in Education, Culture, and Society from University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Studio Art (Painting) & Art Education from Kathmandu University Centre for Art & Design. She currently continues to pursue her study of Kathak dance with Subima Shrestha. Sharareh is one of the founders and the current Chairperson of Srijanalaya, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that is dedicated to creating safe spaces of learning through the arts in Nepal.
